On November 20 we drove up to Arcata via Route 36

Between Red Bluff and Highway 101 the road took many turns but we practically had it to ourselves and the scenery was majestic.
Even though it was cold and windy, we stopped a few times to admire the view.

The following day it was cold and rainy we drove to Osprey House.
First we stopped at WILDEBERRIES MARKETPLACE in Eureka

This place was created, it seemed, to meet the needs of people like our Nikki. They sell herbs, organic everything, incense, chopsticks, candles, fresh flowers, fresh baked bread. And the atmosphere was very "Mendocino"
We admired the merchandise
Christine, Greg, Nikki and Vivianne discussing our purchases. Brigitte eventually bought an umbrella and Vivianne some facial scrub products.
Claire waited patiently

And then took a hike in Arcata's Red Wood Park

Near the campus of Humboldt State University in Arcata, this park was just what we needed
We experienced it in its natural condition: under light rainfall
Brigitte stayed dry under her umbrella

Brigitte was everywhere with her umbrella
